Kult (album)
Kult was the first album by Polish punk rock band Kult. It was recorded in September 1986 in Studio CCS and initially released in May 1987 on LP album through Polton. In 1993 it was rereleased by S.P. Records on compact disc and music cassette. The second release included bonus tracks recorded in Studio Radia Łódź.
The then Communist government's Office for the Control of Publications and Performances (Polish: Urząd Kontroli Publikacji i Widowisk) censored many of songs proposed for the album; about twenty out of forty songs were rejected. Unfortunately the ban involved the band's most popular songs: "Polska", "Po co wolność" and "Totalna militaryzacja". The band members agreed that they wouldn't change the lyrics of rejected songs and so the original 1987 release did not include them.
